  3. wa’alaikum’as’salam brother Queshi, Welcome to the blog. You can also directly e-mail me at wangdaiyu at gmail. Let me know what you want to know.

wa’alaikum’as’salam Muslimah, Yes it is one of the oldest mosques and all the old mosques are like that. The more recent mosques. i.e., build in the last few decades however have Middle Eastern and Turkish architecture.

As for the fruits I am not sure. I know a sister who lived close to the mosque. May be I will ask her.

    Pics inside the mosque, insha’Allah

  5. Assalamoalaikum dear brothers and sisters,

I am curious and worried to know that what is the economic and social condition of Chinese Muslims? I read an article in a newspaper that Chinese government discriminates Muslims against non-Muslims and they are denied basic rights as compared to other Chinese.

For example, that article also said that during Olympics, Chinese Muslims were prevented from getting near to sensitive locations.

Is it true? Please be fair in your answer and if can’t disclose facts then please ignore my question.

    Thanks and salaams to all!

  6. Taimor, it is a complex question which does not have a single question. It is kind of analogous to asking about the condition of Arab Muslims. Their condition varies greatly from one country to another. Please refer to the post about terminology of Chinese Muslims for the answer to this question.

  7. Assalam o Alaikum everyone
It gives a great pleasure when we hear of Islam in China. I am from Pakistan a neighboring country of China. I wish that the Chinese Muslim will prosper day by day and will play their role in the glory of our great religion Islam

  8. assalamu alaikum

    dear brothers and sisters,

as a Muslim Filipino from Philippines, i can say that Muslims here in the Philippines are receiving equal treatment of respect from mainstream. we are very fortunate that our government are not reluctant in giving us separate government. this is manifested in our autonomous governance in our region. i am praying that the government of china will vain from discriminating their Muslims brothers. though they are Muslims by religion, still they are Chinese by blood. their restriction to the public is a manifestation of racism.
